We may use personal information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes and lawful requests; to enforce our terms and policies; to resolve disputes; and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

5. Lawful Bases for Processing

If you are located in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, we process personal information under one or more of the following lawful bases, depending on the circumstances:

Performance of a contract
Where processing is necessary to provide the Services, process orders and payments, arrange shipping, handle returns, or otherwise perform our contract with you.

Service providers and processors
Including providers of ecommerce infrastructure, payment processing, fraud prevention, analytics, communications, hosting, customer support, cloud storage, order fulfilment, shipping and returns.

Review, ratings and content technology providers
Where needed to collect, verify, moderate, manage or display customer reviews, ratings, images, videos or related content, and to send review requests connected to completed purchases.

Where you direct us to disclose information, request us to do so, or otherwise consent, including when you interact with social media widgets, third-party integrations or linked services.

7. Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which processes personal information in order to provide and improve the Services. Information submitted through the Services may be transmitted to and processed by Shopify and its affiliated or supporting providers, including providers located in countries outside your country of residence.

SÈVINE may also use certain Shopify features that support store performance, personalisation, analytics, advertising or customer privacy controls. Where Shopify acts as an independent controller for certain processing, Shopify is responsible for that processing and for handling certain related rights requests. Shopify provides consumer privacy information, customer privacy settings, cookie/banner tools and privacy controls for merchants and consumers.

8. Reviews, Ratings, Photos, Videos and Other Submitted Content

If you submit a review, rating, comment, image, video or other content through the Services, that content may be displayed publicly on the store or through other channels enabled by SÈVINE.

Please do not include sensitive, confidential or unnecessary personal information in public submissions. We may moderate, reject, remove or edit review-related content where reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, fraud, unlawful content, misleading content, or violations of our terms or policies.

Where review features are provided through third-party technology, limited personal information and order data may be shared for purposes such as review invitations, verification of purchase, fraud prevention, moderation and publication of review content.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

SÈVINE and third parties acting on our behalf may use cookies, pixels, tags, scripts and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember preferences, enable secure checkout, analyse traffic and usage, measure campaign performance, detect fraud, and support marketing or advertising activities.

Some of these technologies are strictly necessary for the Services to function, while others are optional and may depend on your consent where required by law. You can manage certain preferences through your browser settings, device settings, or any cookie and privacy tools made available on the Services. Disabling certain technologies may affect the functionality or performance of parts of the Services. ICO guidance says privacy notices should explain why cookies and similar tools are used, while Shopify provides customer privacy settings and cookie-banner tools in admin.

10. Third-Party Websites and Links

The Services may include links to websites or platforms operated by third parties. If you follow those links or interact with such services, your information may be processed according to their own privacy notices and terms. SÈVINE is not responsible for the privacy, security, content or practices of third-party websites or services that it does not control.

11. Children’s Data

The Services are not intended for children, and SÈVINE does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided personal information to SÈVINE, please contact us so that we can take appropriate steps.

As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, SÈVINE does not have actual knowledge that it sells or shares, as those terms are defined under applicable law, the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

12. Security and Retention of Your Information

SÈVINE uses reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we retain personal information depends on the nature of the information and the purpose for which it was collected. For example, we may retain:

  • order, billing, payment confirmation and tax-related records for as long as necessary to comply with legal, accounting and regulatory obligations;
  • customer support records and correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to manage enquiries, complaints, disputes and follow-up matters;
  • account information for as long as an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards;
  • marketing information until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent, object, or the information is no longer needed;
  • review content and related verification data for as long as the content remains relevant to the Services and for a reasonable period afterwards for fraud prevention, dispute handling and legal compliance.

When personal information is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it unless retention is required or permitted by law. ICO guidance says privacy information should explain retention periods or the criteria used to determine them.

13. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to your personal information:

Right to Access / Know
To request access to the personal information we hold about you.

Right to Delete
To request deletion of personal information, subject to legal and operational exceptions.

Right to Correct
To request correction of inaccurate personal information.

Right to Portability
To request a copy of certain personal information in a portable format and, where applicable, to request transfer to another provider.

Right to Object or Restrict Processing
To ask us to stop or limit certain processing in some circumstances.

Right to Withdraw Consent
Where processing is based on consent, to withdraw that consent at any time.

Managing Communication Preferences
To opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in our messages. Even if you opt out of marketing, SÈVINE may still send non-promotional communications relating to your account, orders, returns or other transactions.

You may exercise your rights by contacting us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. In some cases, if a third-party provider acts as an independent controller for part of the processing, you may also need to exercise certain rights directly with that provider. ICO guidance says privacy notices should tell people what rights they have and how to complain, and should explain the right to withdraw consent where consent is relied on.

14. Complaints

If you have concerns about how SÈVINE processes your personal information, please contact us first and we will try to resolve the matter.

If you are in the United Kingdom, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. If you are in the EEA or another jurisdiction with applicable privacy laws, you may also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

15. International Transfers

SÈVINE may transfer, store and process your personal information outside the country in which you live.

Where personal information is transferred outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, SÈVINE will rely on recognised transfer mechanisms where required by law, such as adequacy regulations, Standard Contractual Clauses, or equivalent approved safeguards.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

SÈVINE may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to its practices, Services, legal obligations or regulatory requirements. When updates are made, the revised version will be posted on this page and the “Last updated” date will be updated. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice. ICO guidance says privacy information should be reviewed and updated where practices change.
